I saw it at the midnight premiere, and I have to say it was OK except for the last half. Has anyone noticed the movies have more snappy wit than in the books? I laughed out loud quite a few times in the movie, but I don't remember any of that in the book. Especially since I re-read the book before seeing the movie...

Now, I disagree. While the movie lack the cool detail the book had, you still got the basic just of it. Plus, you have to consider the ways that today's youth in school and the problems they have to deal with.

It was a good movie. Much better than the G-Force crap that knocked off the box office charts.

I deliberately did not re-read the book before I went to see the movie, to better judge it on it's merits.

As a movie, it was actually pretty good. Kept a good pace. The story continued to happen, but they didn't just cut from one big scene to another (I HATED Goblet of Fire. Worst Potter Movie EVER!).

Granted, the movie was not the book. You have to know going in that the movie is going to be an INTERPRETATION of the book, not a COMPLETE RETELLING.

The acting was much better, the Quidditch looked much more realistic, and I LOVED how the Burrow looked on the inside this time, plus, THEY FIXED THE PENSIEVE THANK GOD!

Also, was I the only one to find Marcus Belby an attractive character? Especially the scene where he was shoveling down the ice cream? I was really sad to hear about what happened to that actor.

BTW, anyone looking for a laugh should check this out: Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince in Fifteen Minutes.

I, myself, think the movie was great, but I don't like how it left off with a cliffhanger.
